Roll back the clock and reset your brows

As you grow older, you develop horizontal forehead lines and frown lines between your eyebrows that may make you look stern or tired. As your skin loses elasticity, it tends to droop downwards. To counteract this, your forehead muscles are overactive, leading to the development of horizontal forehead lines. There are a few different types of brow lifts that Dr. Hicks may perform in order to reverse the signs of aging and reset the brow to a more youthful position. A brow lift in Greenville can also be combined with other facial rejuvenation procedures, such as a facelift or blepharoplasty.

  • Correct drooping eyelids and improve vision
  • Achieve results with well-concealed incisions

What is a brow lift?

A brow lift is a surgical procedure that mobilizes and resets the brows to a more youthful position, resulting in improved appearance of both the brows and the eyelids.

Regardless of which technique is used for your brow lift, Dr. Hicks designs incisions behind or along the hairline so that they are very well camouflaged.

Your brow lift consultation with Dr. Hicks

Dr. Kate Hicks performs a thorough consultation before your brow lift in Greenville. During the consultation, she reviews your medical history, examines your brows, discusses your goals and concerns, and presents a personalized treatment plan. Part of this treatment plan includes a discussion of whether a brow lift, blepharoplasty, or both would be optimal based on your unique anatomy. After a thorough evaluation, she and her team will let you know what you can expect during and after the surgery, including a detailed review of postoperative care.

How is a brow lift performed?

Dr. Kate Hicks performs a brow lift using several different techniques and will choose the one that is most appropriate for you based on your anatomy and your goals. During endoscopic brow lifts, four small incisions are made behind the hairline, and surgery is performed with the assistance of a lighted, specialized camera for visualization.

A trichophytic brow lift involves making an incision along the hairline, allowing the brow to be lifted while lowering or maintaining the position of your hairline. A temporal brow lift involves making incisions within your hairline in the region of your temple, which allows the outside portion of your brow to be lifted through a small incision.

What can I expect after a brow lift?

You should expect some redness, swelling, tenderness, numbness, tingling, and bruising after your brow lift in Greenville. Most of these symptoms will resolve within 1 to 2 weeks, but the numbness and tingling may last longer. You may also experience some nausea, and Dr. Hicks will prescribe medication to treat this. You may resume light activities and work after a week, but strenuous workouts should be avoided for at least 10-14 days. You should follow Dr. Hicks’ postoperative instructions to ensure optimal recovery and minimal downtime.
